Katie Murray, M.S.,CF-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Katie Murray earned her Bachelor of Arts at Samford University in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology at MGH Institute of Health Professions.

Katie is passionate about serving clients with language and literacy needs. She has clinical experience with a multisensory structured literacy approach to treat both dyslexia and secondary writing disorders in a school and outpatient setting. Structured literacy is a term adopted by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) that refers to programs focused on the evidence and implementation of the Science of Reading, an approach essential to clients who struggle with reading. Her multisensory approach to literacy includes phonological awareness, phonics, word analysis, spelling, reading fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing intervention.

Alongside her passion for literacy intervention, Katie is involved in research regarding the intersection of dyslexia and language disorders and how to support caregivers of children with these diagnoses. Her goal is to make reading and writing intervention approachable for her clients and come beside families as they navigate dyslexia and language disorders.

Katie also has experience working with clients from early childhood to geriatric populations, in outpatient and school settings. She has experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, AAC, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, developmental language disorder, articulation, phonological disorders, pragmatic disorders, voice, and cognition. Katie strives to build relationships with her clients to keep speech fun, functional, and unique to every client. In her free time, she likes to spend time with friends, find new coffee shops, and be outside!
