Occupational Therapist
Donna Macie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University. She is certified by the National Board of Occupational Therapy. Donna brings extensive experience as an occupational therapist working in a variety of settings in both New York State and Georgia including inpatient, as well as a variety of pediatric outpatient clinics, and schools both public and private.
Donna most recently with a local school district where she maintained a full caseload of students with a variety of diagnoses from 3 years to age 21. Donna has published a chapter on positioning in a book entitled Pediatric Swallowing and Feeding.
Some of Donna’s expertise and certifications include but are not limited to: Interactive Metronome, Infant massage Using bonding and Relaxation Techniques, Behavioral Analysis, Technology assistive Self-care Using Neuromuscular Stimulation, Neurodevelopmental Treatment in Pediatric Cerebral palsy, and upper and lower extremity orthotic and splint certifications. Donna has extensive experience in a variety of clinics lead by physicians and supported by OT including Down’s syndrome, spina bifida, seating, feeding disorders, as well as amputee clinics. Donna has provided evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of congenital and acquired disabilities.
Donna is extremely passionate about providing center based as well as family and community coaching to best support the entire team that is involved to develop goals to enhance the abilities of children she is working with.
In her free time, Donna loves to travel and spend time with her family and walk/run her rescue dogs. Donna also works out in daily group fitness classes including cross-fit.
